Tenaya of Tanglewood Outcrosses - 1980's
Sire: Tajo Midnight RyderDam: Dove of Tanglewood
Tenaya was a houndish shaped, 62% Seppala, bitch with a mixed background involving Anadyr, Little Alaska, White Water Lake and showdog according to her AKC pedigree. She was owned by Carl Quinto and Linda Trinkaus of Southern California, who bred her twice to Uelen's Baron of Seppalta Xsd and once to Uelen's Ebony of Seppalta Xld. The offspring were rangy and enthusiastic. Their, at least the Baron one's, major deficency was prefering trotting to loping.

Barley was one of the most precocious young dogs ever owned by me. Below he is shown in double lead with Beowulf in the 1983 Uinta-Summit race, a heat and race which we won. Barley was exactly 12 months old at the time. The race entailed 43 miles per heat and a trail which went over an 11,000 foot pass. Unfortunately, Barley raced only that one race, never was bred and had to be put down at an early age because of an acute mange problem.
